You will be welcomed with heartfelt hugs at Novanois, music and dance rehearsal location, with homemade brownie and tea. Usually we are 20-30 people, half refugees, half locals, more than 10 different nationalities. The event is split in 3 parts. The welcoming part, dancing class and taking dinner together. You will have around half an hour to meet your new family. You are free to socialize around a delicious homemade brownie, tea and fruits. You will notice changes in your mood during the event, all spectrum of emotions are welcomed, you will feel safe and free of judge. If you are still in your comfort zone, now it will be the moment to take you out with an initiation dance class in swing dance, lindy hop, collegiate shag, balboa, blues, charleston or a folklorik circle dance, dabke, hora. It is an open level, everyone can join in, no previous experienced required. If you already have experience, I will give some tips and tricks to use them on the social floor. You got sweaty, you had loads of fun, you start feeling the magic, now it's time to share dinner with your new family, share your emotions, take pictures, print them and take them home with you.
I have a big passion for dance and a love for people! I start dancing when I was 9 years old. Since then nobody could stop me anymore. My body gets over the brain, whenever there is live music, and nothing and nobody can stop it. I discovered Swing family in 2017 and since then I danced all my evenings and weekends, getting more than a 1000 hours in just a few months. At the end of 2018, I created Swing connects, to share my passion for dance and food, to welcome newcomers in Swing family and to ease their way in Brussels.
