Join us for a challenging 5km hike at the Robertson Lake Cliff's trail, where you will be rewarded with some of the most spectacular views in the region! Our adventure will begin at 11am when we meet at the Chippewa Trading Post at the North end of Sault Ste Marie. After a quick orientation we will coordinate carpools and drive 25mins North to the trailhead. We will spend 2-3 hours hiking the 5km loop up to the Cliffs and back. The first part of the hike is quite steep and challenging, but well worth it once you see the views from atop the 150ft cliffs! After a lunch break, we'll head back down the more gradual back trail, stopping for a break at a beautiful waterfall before returning to the trailhead for our trip back to town. My dog Kyra will likely join us - she's a 60lb, 2yo sheppard mix who loves people and other dogs, so feel free to bring your own dog! Children are welcome, but please be aware that there are some very challenging portions of the hike.
Welcome to Sault Ste. Marie, the gateway to the amazing Algoma region. "The Soo" is one of the most beautiful and natural cities in the country - allow me to share some of my favourite local walking, hiking and snowshoeing routes. I'll be your personal guide during our full-day excursion, guiding you through some of the most spectacular scenery in Northern Ontario and sharing some interesting information about the area and our history. Looking forward to spending a beautiful day outdoors with you!

The Robertson Lake Cliff's trail boasts some of the most spectacular views in the region. The 150ft cliffs provide panoramic views of the Goulais River Valley and Lake Superior in the distance. The area is part of the Algoma Highlands Conservancy, and the 5km loop trail has it all - challenging inclines, panoramic views, a gorgeous trail through the forest - even a waterfall!
Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Don't forget water for your pet, and waste bags! Children are also welcome, but please be aware that sections of the trail are quite challenging.
