Visit a private atelier, where you'll be taught by an expert glass blower and artist. The class begins with an introduction to the fascinating history of glass-making, which is said to have started as early as 1500 B.C. in Egypt. Spend most of the 1-hour-plus class hands-on: you'll learn shaping glass in the fire by melting it; and creating glass beads for jewelry or accessories. No previous experience is required. Just patience and desire.
I’ve been working on glassmaking for 9 years. After years of studying at Czechia and working in the glass industry, I started my own brand 1200 Derece in 2015, which comes from the working temperature 1200 °C. Our mission is to revitalize the image of craftsmen, through meticulous demonstrations and nuanced design innovations.

Balat was once the place where foreigners and minorities live. Beginning from the 50's until recent years many minorities left and region was abounded. Today the place is going through renovation and trying to regain its soul. The buildings are becoming stylish cafes and they are painted in lively colors. The workshop is at our studio in Balat with its original concept where you could see the production while you're having your refreshments.
