How about a private customized jazz tour of Harlem? Until mid-March this will be offered strictly as a private tour. I've been jazz clubbing nightly for 22 years, and haven't discovered anything that comes close to the incredible spirit found in certain Harlem nightclubs. I'll take you right to the heart of that scene.
As we go from club to club, I'll also point out and delve into the historically significant sites and strikingly beautiful homes of Harlem. We will also make sure to stop by the world famous Apollo Theater, and discuss the evolution of jazz from dixieland through bebop.
I'll introduce you to everyone we meet, and you'll immediately feel immersed in the Harlem jazz scene and relaxed in your surroundings. Amazing meals will be available during the sets so bring an appetite. (Please note: Refreshments are not included in the ticket price).

Hi I'm Gordon, a third generation New Yorker.
I've always felt most at home in jazz joints. That's where my people are - the players and the fans; they've inspired me my whole working life:
- I've owned a jazz club in Harlem
- Managed musicians
- Had my jazz photos and articles in major publications
- Been awarded a Proclamation from New York State
For over two decades, I've been designing and leading immersive jazz crawls through NY's underground scene as the owner of Big Apple Jazz Tours.

During these days our itinerary will depend on where the live music shows are happening in Harlem on your particular night. Lately, we can count on music being performed in scenic little neighborhood parks and even at an historic national monument. We'll go where the action is, and visit other historic sites and bar/restaurants that are along the way. Best days are Fri., Sat., and Sun.

Our group had a very special night visiting very local and private clubs in Harlem, Gordon was acquainted with everyone at the clubs and even some people we met when walking on the Harlem streets. This made me feel safe throughout the tour while enjoying the live Jazz performance. Gordon explained a lot about the history of the Harlem music.
TRUST ME, you would never have found/experience these venues yourselves. This is only possible with Gordon's guidance.
Gordon was a very caring person too, when our tour was ending, he made sure everyone in the group knew how to get back home, he even suggested me the best route since i was new to the city.

This is the kind of thing I've been wanting to do in New York for so long! Gordon really provides a welcoming atmosphere and clearly loves jazz and the places he brings you to. Even if you just appreciate good music I feel like this experience is worth your time. There's something so mesmerizing about live music, especially jazz. Shake up your expectations and spend a night in Harlem.
