We your hosts, Mark, Kelly and Oliver (clad in his red bandanna) will meet you in Cornucopia in the Siskwit Falls parking area. It’s easy to find. You will look for Siskwit Falls Road just off County Hwy C at the very south edge of Cornucopia (right where you see the Cornucopia Unincorporated sign, when driving up from the south). Please park in the upper parking area closest to County Hwy C. From there we will walk down to the bridge together. Please wait for us as there is private property that you MUST be careful not to trespass on. Together we will hike from the parking area to the bridge. We will walk upstream in the water being careful not trespass, as upstream is where the private property is, and then enjoy a quarter mile hike down the river and gather on sand stone ledges for a delicious picnic lunch, prepared at Second Wind Country Inn. Here, as in all of the hike, we will be careful not to leave a trace that we were there. A renewed outlook on life, the video footage on your phone, and the pictures captured will be the only evidence of this river-walk. When we are done with our hike, you may want to enjoy the beautiful shoreline of Lake Superior just minutes away, or perhaps visit the local ice cream store or the art shops down near the marina
Mark And Kelly
Though I (Kelly) was born and raise in northern Wisconsin I did not know this little piece of heaven on earth existed here in my backyard. Since I discovered this, I can’t get enough of peaceful walks in this beautiful river. On most days the water is ankle deep with a few spots calf deep. After rain it can be a bit higher. My hubby and I own an inn, just 40 minutes from this amazing place. Should you need lodging you should check out Second Wind Country Inn in Ashland WI. We often bring guests on this stunning interactive river-walk, where we walk down the middle of the river and eat our picnic lunch (or breakfast) on slabs of sandstone as we listen to the gentle rushing water and take in breathtaking scenery with Oliver, our beloved Airedale as our tour guide
We pack an amazing picnic Breakfast or Lunch (depending on the trip time) All prepared at our Inn (Second Wind Country Inn): …
We'll meet you at the river with Oliver our tour guide and a lovely packed meal . You will need to bring your own water…
Oliver our beloved Airedale is a big part of the experience. Clad in a red bandanna, he's sure to show you a good time!
Come join us for an amazing riverwalk and picnic with your hosts Mark and Kelly and their Airedale Oliver in Siskiwit Falls which is located in the town of Cornucopia on the Siskiwit River, less than mile before it empties into Lake Superior. The falls consist of a series of drops and ledges. The largest is a slide with a height of about 10 feet. This is interactive river walk is like no other with water levels mostly no higher than mid-calf.
This experience is for the "sure footed". If steep inclines and if maintaining balance is an issue for you, this would not be the experience for you.
