We will meet at Long Wharf in downtown Boston to take the ferry out to Spectacle Island in the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. You will learn about the history of the Boston Harbor Islands as we travel 30 minutes on the ferry. Once on Spectacle Island we will hike approximately 3 miles (5k) up to the highest point on any of the islands for spectacular views of the harbor and downtown Boston. This is truly a unique trip that combines an opportunity for a nature hike and historical tour. Don't miss this experience of Boston that is often overlooked by many visitors! Guests will be given snacks while on the island. After stopping for the views halfway through the hike we will head back to the ferry and proceed back to Long Wharf in downtown. This experience will take approximately 3 and a half hours. Round trip ferry tickets included in price!
I am a local New Englander with years of hiking experience. I've hiked in out in Patagonia, the Italian Alps, Western Canada and the Northwestern United States, climbing some of the tallest mountains on this planet! On top of that I have 3 years of industry guiding experience and am certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Despite not being known for outdoor tourism, Boston has some amazing outdoor spaces that I am super excited to show off! Come hiking with me and you will be totally amazed at the nature New England has to offer!
