I have created an olive oil tour based on our family's olive mill which is active since 1980. The tour lasts for est. 1 hour and includes: -A walk through an olive grove, where we will talk about the trees, the fruit and learn about the cultivation and the harvest process. -A visit to our olive mill facilities along with an olive oil making video projection, where we will walk among our modern factory production equipment, explaining in detail all the phases of olive oil production. -Olive oil tasting We will learn how to taste an extra virgin olive oil. We will taste 3 different extra virgin olive oils. The world of extra virgin olive oil: what a good consumer should know. - And finally, we will offer our visitors a traditional cretan treat. It is important to taste olive oil both with and without food. A greek salad included of cretan quality products. Rusks, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, olives and, of course, our Pallada extra virgin olive oil, will end the visit with a good taste.
I am a food scientist and have been working in Food Industry for the last 10 years. The last 5 of them I run the Quality Assurance department in Pallada Olive Oil. My knowledge on olive oil comes from my studies and work experience but my passion and experience come from my family's tradition in olive oil production and my memories as a kid in the olive groves. I have travelled in Greece, Toscane and Andalusia to taste the very best olive oils of the world.
