Over the course of a 2- to 3-hour session, you'll learn the basics of the rowing stroke and the equipment used in the sport. After some instruction on land, you'll spend the rest of our session on the water. This experience focuses on sculling (two-oar rowing). Larger groups of 4 to 8 participants can sweep row (one oar rowing).
We will use the rowing equipment of the Kansas City Rowing Club including the boat, the oars, and safety equipment.
Kansas City Rowing Club
The Kansas City Rowing Club was created in 1992 to promote the sport of rowing in the Kansas City metro area. Over twenty-seven years, we've taught thousands of people to row from the ages of 14 to their 80's. Our passion is rowing, we'd love to introduce you to this exciting sport.

This experience will take place on beautiful Wyandotte County Lake. The area around the lake is wooded and home to wildlife including deer, osprey, and bald eagles.
It is unlikely that your boat will tip. For safety reasons, guests should be able to swim 100 yards and tread water for 15 minutes. A lifejacket is available on request.
