On a two hour walking tour we'll discover the city center of Ghent. We will walk by some of the highlights of the old part of the city such as the cathedral, squares, old harbour and castle but we'll also wander a little further afield towards lesser known places, shops and cool street art. In winter, when it is dark, we focus on the nicely lit up places and stop halfway to warm up and have a drink.
Being an avid world traveler I would like to offer travellers visiting Ghent to get to know the city from a local's perspective. I have been living in Ghent for more than 15 years and am a certified city guide. I can offer classic historical tours but do also like to show the 'hard to find' places that only locals know (and even some locals don't know). We have great spots, beautiful views, amazing shops and delicious snacks to discover.
You'll get to sample something local. It could be candy or something else typical from Ghent or Belgium. In winter we'll stop…
From the old part of town we'll walk to cool and trendy lesser known places. We may enter the cathedral for a sneak peak and some amazing shops if open. Most of the tour however is outside. The total walking distance is about 5 kms.
We'll be out for a few hours so bring clothing appropriate to the weather (prediction). There are plenty of bathrooms and places to rest if needed.
