Early in the morning, brunch or afternoon tea, French pastries always have a place in the day, especially when some of the best are baked in New York! This French food tour will start uptown on Central Park West. I will lead us through iconic neighborhoods to try the best croissants, pains aux raisins, canelés and macarons! Coffee and tea available too :) Our first stop will introduce us to a croissant or pain au chocolat, part of a traditional continental breakfast in France. Next we'll try a sweeter pastry, such as a creamy éclair or custard cake. We'll stop for as long as you want at each bakery, where I'll share a brief history and compare the pastries. We'll walk approximately one mile total and I'll point out beautiful architecture and landmarks. I live uptown and these are my favorite places in the city. I can't wait to tell you about life as a New Yorker! If you love food photography as much as I do, I'll also take photos and share them following the tour. Conversations can be held in English or French. Private groups welcome. If your preferred date and time isn't available, just ask! Skip Starbucks and join me for a taste of France uptown! A bientôt! See you soon!
Two French Pastries
I'm a Francophile, foodie and Airbnb addict! I love exploring French restaurants, mostly bakeries or pâtisseries, around the world. My love started in 2012 when I studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, became fluent in French and ate pastries everyday. Seven years later, New York is my home and I spend my free time trying French pastries. I would love to share my favorite croissants and macarons with you! I love the Airbnb community and have recently been welcomed by hosts in Cuba, Peru and Portugal. I look forward to welcoming you in New York! Follow me on Instagram at @Frenchpastriesforever!
We'll focus on unique French bakeries or pâtisseries led by up-and-coming bakers and world renowned pastry chefs. These aren't featured in Time Out New York or many guide books. They aren't chains! This tour will also give a glimpse into uptown Manhattan, iconic Central Park, landmarks, shops and restaurants.
