We'll help you understand the Japanese lesbian scene from top to bottom. There are a few big bars and clubs in Shinjuku Nichome that you can visit on your own, but we'll take you to the cozy, intimate spaces that the locals here really visit. More than simply bar hopping, in this experience, while walking around the area, we'll explain the culture and history, and the manner and style of each type of bar, so you can understand the meaning of the places we visit. You'll be able to feel comfortable and at home here, just like we do. We'll visit two bars of different styles, along with one club. The first bar is run by a lesbian couple, who are its owners and exclusive bartenders. The second bar is exclusively for women, and is loved as a place for its guests to relax and be themselves. The final spot will be a club mainly for women, where we can try karaoke and party! Locations may change based on availability. Each of these spots is hidden and difficult to find for travelers. But don't worry, with us you'll be able to go anywhere with no problem. I go to all of these spots regularly, and I'm excited to show you how we do LGBTQ in Japan!
I've been hosting a LGBTQ tour in Shinjuku Nichome for two years, and enjoying drinking and exploring Tokyo's gay areas for five. Having studied sexuality and gender studies in university, I came to love Nichome not just as a party spot, but while doing fieldwork there, as a social landmark for LGBTQ people. There are many LGBT bars in Tokyo, but I make a point of visiting as many as possible, and love making real connections with the bar masters. For this experience, I'm happy to offer a course with bars cis and trans women can enjoy. The girls of Shinjuku Nichome are excited to have you!

We'll visit a total of three locations, with two lesbian bars and one lesbian club. As is common in the Nichome style, each bar is very intimate and made for easy talking with the bar masters and guests. The first bar is run by a lesbian couple, and loved by its regulars for the conversation they provide. The second bar is for women only, and its guests enjoy being themselves here alongside other women. Last, we'll visit a lesbian club and party!
