We'll start at our office where I'll provide a briefing about the area. The itinerary starts in the office, walking through old roads of cobble pavement and paths between old houses with views to local gardens and beautiful scenery in the horizon. You will feel like a local walking in the village and heading up the mountain through the forest. On the way you will have views to the Royal palace, with its Medieval facade, the Gothic church with its gargoyles and we go inside Pena Park to explore its gardens and touch the unique tiles of Pena palace's walls while getting the views from its terraces (some of the highest points of Sintra's mountain range) to the Moorish Castle , Cascais and Lisbon. On the way down we will see King Ferdinand's valley of the lakes, gardens with exotic Japanese, north and south-american species. We make our way down the mountain through the Villa Sassetti estate, where we get more views of other famous landmarks of Sintra. Our journey comes to an end in Sintra's historic center (in front of the National Palace) where you can enjoy lunch after the walk or try the local pastries (Travesseiros and Queijadas).

I'm a geographer guide in Sintra, with years experience studying the region's geography and history. I will guide you through the area, preferably, off-the-beaten path, within the nature and garden areas, stopping to talk about the exotic vegetation and the mix of Romantic architecture and monuments of Sintra. I will also guide you inside and around Pena Palace and Moorish Castle.
