Gea and I want you to see Marrickville’s treasures and hope you leave loving it too. Each tour visits the best experiences Marrickville has to offer as well as a special “add-on” that can be done on some days of the week only. We’ll start by grabbing a Banh Mi (Vietnamese filled baguette) from Sydney’s finest pork roll shop. We’ll eat in a shaded local park while talking about the changes in Marrickville over time, and how it’s become the place it is today. Strolling through the shopping streets, we'll admire the street art and I'll point out the venues of the vivacious live music scene that are hard to find. We'll stop at a contemporary artist's hub and shop that showcases local art. We’ll visit a local small brewery where the passionate brewsters in the tap room will chat while they pour you some liquid gold. Special "add-on" for the Wednesday Tour: we’ll visit a Coffee Curator where we’ll learn about making great coffee and taste their brew. Special "add-on" for the Friday and Sunday Tours: we’ll visit a small Gin distillery to admire their gleaming copper still and perhaps have a G & T. I recommend allowing time after the tour to experience the amazing live music scene. I can show you what's on & where to eat and drink.
I'm a passionate traveler, foodie, cook, filmmaker and storyteller. I love exploring and finding new places. Whether overseas or in my own backyard, I look for places that are quirky and interesting. I've been everywhere in Sydney, my birth city. Marrickville is a gem because of its rich culture, music scene, restaurants, breweries, street art... I even found my doggie Gea here... she comes too! I've curated a "mixed bag" tour that let's you have a taste of the best. I would love to share it with you... just 16 minutes by train from Central station. See more on Insta: @walkthiswaytours
A Banh Mi - a classic Vietnamese bread roll with your choice of meat or vegetarian filling. Gluten free option also…
1 beer, glass of wine or soft drink in the brewery we visit.
Part of Sydney's "Inner West", Marrickville is where people lived during the early years of Sydney. You will see older houses and industrial areas from the time when people lived close to the factories they worked in. This history has led to a vibrant contemporary space, where creatives and artisans have carved out new directions for work and play. The lively food scene, the street art and intimate music places create a great area to explore.
18歳以上の方8名まで参加できます。 Guests need to be comfortable around dogs. I will be in touch to find out if there are any foods you do not eat.
We will be walking approx 3.5 kms/2 miles on level, paved footpaths. There are lots of stops and the pace is an enjoyable stroll. Bring a bag if you want to buy things from the places we visit.
