On arrival at the farm I will personally welcome you to Greenacre Family Farm. Over hot drinks and freshly baked cake I can introduce you to the workings of the farm and answer any questions you may have. We'll then go on a tour of the farm, observing the cows being milked by Robotic milking units, following the fresh milk through the pipes to the main milk tank. On to feed the chickens, learning about the different breeds and why the hens lay different shades of eggs, before collecting fresh eggs for you to take home. Next is the rewarding task of feeding the baby calves, ensuring each calf has feed, water and fresh bedding. We'll then take a walk through the fields, enjoying the views from the farm whilst checking the 200 or so sheep are healthy and happy. Finally, on returning to the farmyard we'll help with any other seasonal jobs.
My brother, sisters and I each enjoyed an idyllic childhood at Greenacres. Plenty of fresh air, space and freedom to learn through play on the farm, whilst being taught to respect the environment + keep ourselves and the animals safe. We were fortunate to experience all of this, and it was during a chat with my sisters who have remained in the village that the idea of opening up the same opportunities to others was born. Farming is in my bones, I have been farming since I was born. I think everyone should be able to experience Farming life , being outside, caring for animals, working together
We provide hot drinks and Freshley baked cake or cornish cream teas, (cream from the farm and home made jam)
You will enjoy the amazing views from our privately owned 500 acre farm and beyond right out over the sea (on a clear day), we have no foot paths on our land so the farm is secluded from the outside world. Our farm is a working Dairy farm so it has lots of old buildings, farm smells, different animals in spaces scatted throughout the farm.
