Stand Up Paddle - Mornings and Sunsets I will brief the group with safety instructions & basic instructions on how to float, steer, and maintain your boards and gear. The rest will have to be learned on the water. 90% of the water is calm and will give enough opportunity to learn, and balance on your board. You will learn the basics, take in the sights, and have a very memorable experience and a sense of adventure! The current will take us 4 - 7 miles while keeping our eyes open for the majestic wild horses, bald eagles, cows, birds, deer, javelina and the elusive river otters. We will stop halfway for photos, snacks, and cliff jumping for the daring. To start we meet at Walgreens. Be prepared to carpool. We stage 1 car at the bottom of the river, and carpool everyone and our gear to the top. I'm happy to provide pictures and edit videos. Gratuities encouraged.
I am a Level 1 Certified SUP Instructor through the ACA and happy to share my knowledge with anyone on the water. I left a twenty year banking career to find peace, calm and happiness in nature and on the water. I fell in love with Stand Up Paddleboarding in Hawaii in 2016. I paddled 1.5 miles in open water from Oahu to the Mokulua Islands. One of my life’s greatest memories! I paddle various local lakes and rivers weekly and would love to share this experience with as many people as possible. It's a unique experience to get a view of the Majestic Wild Horses! I'm happy to help make your Snap and Insta Followers jealous by providing my photography and videography skills if you'd like
Spare Water if needed.
I will provide your rental boards, paddles, and personal floatation devices. This is included in the experience price.
We will attempt to sight the Majestic Horses of the Salt River in Tonto National Forrest. We will have various beaches to stop at for breaks, sightings, and potential rock and cliff jumping to cool off.
Limit yourself to 1 small bag or cooler. Have enough hydration, snacks and sunscreen for up to 3 hours of sun exposure. Prepare to get wet. You will need a vehicle to carpool and transport boards.
