I will pick you up halfway the morning in Beaune, or in any other village close by - let me know where you are staying! We'll drive to a viewpoint about 10 minutes away, where I will explain you everything about the Burgundy wines and its terroirs: the past, the present, the future, the grapes, the harvest, etc. From there, we will head to a beautiful, abandoned castle where I will give you a little explanation about the place. Then, we will go off the beaten track! We go into the countryside, crossing tiny little villages until we arrive at the first winery. It is a family driven winery, nothing posh, but real hard working people that are very good in one specific thing: producing a delicious wine! You will see how they live and work, and you will taste 3 different wines. After the first winery, we will go to another little village where we will have a lunch in a very local, non-touristy restaurant. Lunch will be a starter, mail meal and dessert. A glass of wine or a soft drink will be included, other drinks are at own expense. When we've finished lunch, we go to a second winery, in the heart of the so-called côte Chalonnaise, part of the Burgundy wine area. This winery is a bit more fancy, located next to a beautiful old chateau. We will have a tasting of 3 different wines there. From there, it is a 30-minute drive back to Beaune, where we will arrive around 4PM.
I am originally from the Netherlands and have traveled around the world for my previous job as a tour director. Having lived in many different countries, I am a polyglot. My husband and I have decided to settle in beautiful Burgundy about 8 years ago. Life's changed quite a bit: now I am the proud mother of three, so I decided to travel in my own "neighborhood" and show people the stunning beauty of this region. It has been almost 8 years that we have lived here and, although I have not studied wine science, I can still teach you a lot about it! I know the nicest places and best-kept secrets in this area. Burgundy has a lot to offer! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any other requests, i.e. larger groups, different itinerary, etc. This is a winter-tour.
