This particular experience is titled Scandals. We start at the ancestral family home of the late Diana, Princess of Wales to hear about a Duchess who was also an icon with the public. We walk through the exclusive district of St James's, taking on sites such as St James's Palace where a Royal birth would cause rumors to be spread. Travelling along the fashionable shopping area of Jermyn Street where gentlemen have been dressed to impress and and stopping off at a church where the 'unhappy countess' got tricked into marriage by a fortune hunter. We'll walk through one of London's fashionable squares and see where the members of high society elite would got to party. The route will take about 90 minutes and I'll be telling you some of the lesser known scandals as well as some more publicized ones.
I love history and finding out its hidden stories. London is an amazing place to wet the appetite for an interesting fact, some juicy gossip, or who the most influential people were who made their mark on the city. Some good and some not so good, but no matter what they did it's the discovery of it that makes it so intriguing. I have a qualification from the University of Westminster as a tour guide.
We'll be starting at Spencer House and walking through on of London's most fashionable districts. The Tudor palace of St James's as well as the shopping district of Jermyn Street and onto the exclusive St James's Square. A church built by Sir Christopher Wren, and the famous clubs that line the street of Pall Mall. Seeing some of the many memorials that grace the public spaces and ending up where all distances in the UK are measured.
You need to have a level of fitness for this walk. It is about 2 km from beginning to end. Be prepared for the variable weather, bringing an umbrella is not a bad idea and deffinetly wear comfortable shoes.
