This Kuala Lumpur walking tour will begin in Chinatown, where guests will get a firsthand look at temples, historical buildings, wet market and general activities in the neighbourhood; what dishes and fruits to try; and what souvenirs to get. Guests can wander around a Taoist as well as a Hindu temple. From there, the walk will take guests to the Central Market, the riverside and onwards to the Independence Square where colonial buildings still stand. The National Mosque will be next where guests are able to enter and experience the religious site. The walking tour will then proceed to the Botanical Garden where guests can enjoy the lush greenery as well as various gardens. Finally, it's a walk to the lively neighbourhood of Little India. Along the walk, historical and fun facts will be shared with guests to give them an indepth knowledge of Kuala Lumpur.
I have been travelling a lot around the region and Europe, and like the idea of introducing the city of Kuala Lumpur from a local's perspective. I'm enthusiastic about this city I called home but I found that a good walking tour of Kuala Lumpur is sadly lacking. Hence, I've decided to create a walking tour of the city. I've already done numerous walking tours for my guests with Couchsurfing. I'm pretty much an easy going and engaging person, with lots of fun facts and stories to share. My goal is for guests to understand, enjoy and absorb the sights, food and culture Kuala Lumpur has to offer.
As this is a walking tour, staying hydrated is important. Hence, a guest will be provided with bottled water and a goody bag.
Guests will be able to enter and wander around Taoist and Hindu temples as well as a mosque to understand the religious significance of these structures. Along the walking tour, guests will also be able to try different local dishes and fruits. The historical aspects of each neighbourhood will be highlighted to provide guests with the understanding of how the various ethnicity are able to live together in the multicultural capital of Malaysia.
The 3:30 - 7:00 pm Walking Tour Experience will take a slightly different route which includes Church Street, bar street, food street and the Bukit Bintang neighbourhood, ending at Pavilion mall. Please do also visit my foodie experience at https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/642630
