We’ll visit hidden public gardens, and stop for beautiful views of the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz that tourists rarely see or experience. I’ll share some fun facts about the spaces we visit and the plants we see, and also some history of San Francisco along the way. There will be a decent amount of stairs on the walk, there's a lot of hills in these neighborhoods, so come prepared!
I love plants and have always been a gardener, lately an urban gardener. I have 25+ plants in my small city apartment, love farmers markets, and spent time in Ecuador learning about permaculture. I've spent hours walking around San Francisco, discovering the city and finding the best hidden gardens, coolest plants, and views, and I'm excited to share these places with you!
We'll start by the embarcadero, and wander up Filbert Steps, stopping to see some of the public gardens and to visit Coit Tower. After this, we'll walk through the North Beach and Russian Hill neighborhood, to visit a few more hidden public gardens. We'll continue our walk into Pacific Heights, where we'll appreciate Lyon Street Steps, and end in Lafayette Park, stopping for views and to visit secret gardens along the way!
