First, we will start talking about what we will be doing during our time, why we are doing it, and what can be expected on this approximate 1 hour adventure. We will suit up with the proper gear, start a smoker, and open one of 4 bee hives for inspection; each which contain 10,000+ bees. We will spend some time talking during all of these steps for information, fun facts, hands on experience, and observation. After the hive inspection, we will end our adventure with some fresh honey for tasting, perhaps even some honeycomb.
Troy & Rachel
We are honey bee keepers and are entering our 4th year. We continually learn each year about bees and their impact on our environment. Honey bees are vital to our ecological system. Without bees we would loose a vast majority of pollination. We support saving the honey bee. We harvest honey for sale, honey products, and even honey mead.
Each guest will be able to sample fresh honey or honey comb.
Bottled water will be available for each guest upon request.
The bee hives are in our backyard on our hobby farm. The land is surrounded with many beautiful aesthetics such as a pond, barn, many gardens, chickens and ducks, and many trees.
You can be involved as little or as much as you would like. We will have the proper gear and equipment to minimize any potential stings. A sting is possible but doesn’t happen very often.
