Guests will meet Andrea at her studio on the alpaca farm. We’ll start the experience by meeting the alpacas and guests will have the opportunity to take a selfie with them. Then we’ll head back to the studio to learn how natural fibers are prepared for spinning and felting. Then guests will try their hand at making yarn with a drop spindle, Weave a mini scarf on a rigid loom, and then needle felt an alpaca to wear the scarf. Guests will leave their experience with a felted, scarf wearing alpaca ornament.
Refreshments: Feel free to share your preference and I will do my best to accommodate! Tea and coffee provided.
I love teaching people of all ages how to create one of a kind creations from natural fibers. The studio is located on a working alpaca farm and guests can meet the alpacas and take a selfie with their fiber muse. We also team up with other Missouri fiber farms to provide a wide selection of natural fibers to spin into yarn, knit, felt or weave.
We will conduct our work shop on a working family alpaca farm. The studio looks out on to the front pasture where the alpacas graze. Weather permitting an alpaca will visit the studio and guests can have their picture taken with them.
For the health and safety of our animals and guests NO PETS OR OUTOUTSIDE ANIMALS allowed. Parents are responsible for their children at all times. This is a working farm, not a playground.
