I’ll guide you through the trendy, enjoyable and amazingly varied neighborhood that has been mine for 8 years. We’ll meet on a train track of Berchem Station and finish at Antwerp Central Station. During our 2,5h tour you’ll discover hidden gems, my favorite culinary hotspots, architectural highlights, interesting facts and the history of the neighborhood. You’ll go off the beaten track and find a part of Antwerp that many tourists won’t see. You’ll walk as a local in, sometimes vivid, sometimes hidden streets. Our final destination is Antwerp Central Station. From there you can easily reach the city center by foot, by tram or with a Velo (city bike). You can also chose to go back to the starting point by train or metro. I'll bring a little, local surprise as well. The tour is available in Dutch, English and French.
Giving guided tours to customers and visitors in tv studios, outside broadcasting and production facilities was something I really loved about my previous job. Now, I’ve decided to pick up where I left off. I’ll be guiding you through in a neighborhood where I have been living for 8 years. I’m constantly looking for interesting facts, culinary hotspots and hidden gems and I’ve been digging into the historical background of these places. That’s how I plotted a guided walk that introduces a hugely diverse and interesting neighborhood that tourists most probably wouldn’t discover on their own.
We’ll go for a walk in Berchem with its local shops and cozy atmosphere. We’ll dive into the ‘Groen Kwartier’ to discover its history and a hotspot with urban farmers, creative entrepreneurs, coffee bar and restaurants. Then we’ll stroll through Zurenborg, a trendy neighborhood with beautiful historic houses. Passing through a Jewish and multicultural area, we’re heading towards the diamond area. We’ll finish in the Central Station neighborhood.
12歳以上の方8名まで参加できます。保護者同伴の2歳未満のお子様も参加可能です。 The tour is a 5 km walk and takes about 2,5h. It's not really 'adapted' to children but of course if you have kids that love to walk around in the city and that are interested in some culture and nice to know…
Take into account that our starting point is different from the end point. If you come by train, by tram or by Velo (citybike) you can easily get back to Berchem Station or towards the city center.
