You can take the "LINK" light rail from downtown south to the Angle Lake area station to meet with me to begin our adventure around 8:00am. We will then proceed to work our way to the trailhead to begin our adventure. We will stop at a local grocery market and pick up sandwiches for lunch, we will choose what we would like to make for dinner as a group or you can pick out for yourselves depending upon your dietary restrictions and preference. After picking up our food and last minute items we will continue our trek to the trailhead. I will supply the Washington State permits we need and the snowshoes if needed, but they are not always necessary, in the summer months the snow will not be an issue. Once we get our packs on we will begin ascending to the top of the mountain, it is a 4 mile hike one way with a 2000 foot elevation gain so it is a continuous steady climb to the top. As long as you are in good physical health and do a good deal of walking for exercise you should be just fine. We are in no hurry to get to the cabin, we will take our time and enjoy the beauty of our surroundings taking in the beautiful snow in the winter time and enjoying the wild flowers in summer.
I will be providing us the place to stay, accommodations include; Sleeping pad, dishes for cooking, bathroom, no shower.
I will supply plenty of water to drink.
I will provide snowshoes if needed for the trek back to the trailhead. I will bring my sled if you would like to go…
I have been living in the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years. I love to hike and explore the beautiful outdoors and have been organizing and arranging group hikes in the Olympic and Cascade Mountains for almost 4 years. I have a very successful Airbnb “Experience” in the Seattle area called “Day hike to explore the Pacific NW” which I have been active with since the Spring of 2018.
We will be hiking 4 miles one way up 2000 ft of steady uphill climbing. Once we get to the top at 4250 ft. we will make ourselves comfortable in this beautiful cabin, make some coffee/tea whatever and enjoy the awesome views (if the weather permits) of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and Mount Saint Helen’s! There is a beautiful gazebo just outside the cabin on a ridge you can retreat to if you want some solitude and/or meditation time to yourself.
If the weather is calling for storms or high winds in the Ashford, WA. for the date of the booking, the adventure will be cancelled for the safety of the Airbnb Adventure guests.
