This experience is all about making it easy to create awesome travel and instagram photos on your mobile, while discovering Auckland's colourful, bohemian Karangahape Road! We'll meet at my apartment, just off Karangahape or 'K' Road and do a brief run-down of some tips and tools that will immediately improve your photography. You'll also have a chance to grab a quick snack and some bottled water to take on the tour. The second part of your experience is a 2-hour walking tour of K Road. You'll be able to practice your new photography chops on hard-to-find street and public art, architecture and landmarks. If you want additional advice and assistance - just ask! I'll also share the fascinating history of K Road, which begins before European settlement and reveals so much about modern New Zealand! Local gossip and insider tips on where to eat, shop and visit are included. About 2/3 of the way through the tour we'll take a 20-minute coffee break at a local cafe. Auckland rain usually passes quickly. If it's too wet to shoot, the tour will still go ahead but we might choose more under-cover spots. The tour finishes at Pigeon Park, on the corner of Symonds Street and K Road.
I run an online content production agency and I'm passionate about creating cool, interesting content. Before I opened my company, I spent seven years teaching students at the University of Auckland Business School how to create video and photos, using consumer products like mobile phones - it was a popular course! I've lived in Auckland's city fringe for over 15 years and find it endlessly fascinating, always offering new things to discover. I'm excited to combine my passion for teaching and production of beautiful visual content with the opportunity to show off my eclectic neighbourhood

We'll walk the full length of K Road from the West end to the East, as well as visiting Beresford Square. About 2/3 of the way through the tour we'll take a break at Verona, one of K Road's numerous cafes. The tour finishes at Pigeon Park on the corner of Symonds Street and K Road.
Remember to charge your phone before you come! This tour is recommended for people aged 18+ as it passes through Auckland's old red-light district and includes some references to prostitution.
