A different lifestyle..... Residents of the Faubourg (an ancient French term for "suburb") Marigny have a New Orleans culture all their own. Musicians, chefs, and artist of all varieties live and work in an atmosphere of creativity. Behind the bracket houses and Creole cottages built in the 1800s we live, eat and play. The explosion of colorful houses boldly sitting directly on the sidewalks gives the Faubourg a feeling of liveliness that has existed as a legacy to its founder Bernard de Marigny. A short walk to the Marigny triangle and the music clubs of Frenchman Street will reveal a neighborhood filled with the most talented local musicians. A historical tour - The beginnings of the Marigny. How did they live? How did they co-exist in such a dense design? How do we do it today? A music tour - Where to go, what to hear. As a licensed tour guide, I'll explain who we are and how the Marigny hasn't changed much in 200 years. The history, culture, food and all that makes us unique. Welcome to my neighborhood
