We will meet in the heart of Winnipeg's French Quarter and run along the Red River. I will point out interesting pieces of Winnipeg's history as we enjoy the varied culture of the city. Winnipeg is a multicultural hub full of history and neat architecture that you've gotta see while you're here! Our five-mile (8km) loop will bring us back to our starting point where you can treat yourself to a post-run gelato or hot chocolate at Cafe Postal, a delightful locally-owned French cafe. Gu energy gels will be handed out before we begin, so you can take it whenever you feel that you need it.
Hi! I'm Jayne. I'm 30 years old and I've been a runner for 10 years. I've run more than 10 half marathons and I ran my first marathon in Brooklyn, New York in 2018 and my second in Victoria, BC in 2019. In the evenings I work at a local running store, so I love to talk about running! Join me on a leisurely 8k (5 miles) run through the best parts of Winnipeg. See the city through the eyes of a local while still getting your run in!

I will have some backup gloves and hats in case you forgot yours. Message me before we meet if you need anything else!
Our 8-km course will take us down the scenic River Walk along the Red River, where you will see the downtown Winnipeg skyline, the provincial legislative building, and the Golden Boy, then we will continue down to Wellington Crescent to see some of Winnipeg's best residential architecture. On our return leg, we will go through trendy Wolseley and down Broadway, before reaching the Forks and returning to St Boniface.

This will be a nice, easy run at about an 11-minute-mile pace (7 min/km), or slower if you would feel more comfortable. Expect to be out for about 60 minutes. This is a run for runners of all skill levels, especially beginners.
