Learn the controlled meditative elements to the Japanese Tea Ceremony and be taught the carefully prescribed movements that are based on 4 principles: harmony, respect, purity and tranquillity. ★On arrival at our family home we welcome the ladies to select and wear a beautiful Kimono with Obi (belt) or Summer Yukata and the men to wear a Hakama (traditional Japanese clothing for men) to wear during the Tea Ceremony. ★After you have been transformed into your traditional Japanese clothing the Tea Ceremony will begin with experienced Tea Master, Miyuki who will present the art of tea making. ★ Miyuki and myself will explain in English the rules and manners of this elegant art, demonstrate how to use the utensils, showcasing the correct techniques to prepare the tea and then drink it. ★Guests will be guided on how to prepare their own matcha tea. ★Guests can sip on their matcha tea and sample wagashi Japanese sweet in the serene and calm atmosphere. ★After enjoying your matcha and wagashi guests are welcome to wander outside in their Kimono/Yukata/Hakama to take beautiful photographs in the stunning picturesque countryside.
Hello my name is Natsue Kimura. I was born in Minami Uonuma and a daughter of a local rice farmer. This area is famous for its high quality rice and is known as Japan’s best rice. Minami Uonuma is a quiet and tranquil place set amongst mountains in the Japanese Alps and is famous for its high quality rice and is therefore known as Japan’s best rice. This beautiful setting is perfect to enjoy and experience the art of a Japanese Tea Ceremony. The Tea Ceremony will be taught by my Sister Miyuki who has over 10 years’ experience as a Tea Ceremony Master. I will assist Miyuki during this Japanese cultural experience where you will learn the preparation of matcha, green powdered tea and Tea Ceremony manners. The tea is enjoyed with wagashi traditional Japanese sweets to balance with the taste of matcha tea.
