I'm the General Manager of Mission Bicycle, in SF and have biked streets the world over. I settled in the Mission District in 2001 and am a buff on SF's storied history and LGBT legacy.
We'll hop on custom bikes and ride into 1906 earthquake history, using historic photographs to find an extremely rare "earthquake shack," and fire insurance maps to spot the sites of the old opera house, an abandoned orphanage, and Valencia Hotel. We'll pay homage to Sparky - the city's most important fire hydrant - and catch a live test of our Emergency Warning System.
No need to pack spandex. This is a slow and casual ride. Our top speed doesn't usually top 13 mph.
