We'll taste 8 stops with some of the snacks or drinks that Gabo served his characters meanwhile we tell you the history behind our traditional cuisine; We'll stroll by emblematic spots in the old town like Plaza de los Coches, Plaza de la Aduana, Plaza de Bolivar and Plaza de la Proclamación where Gabo's cultural center will open soon. My name is María and I'm the leader of Foodies, we are a local community of food lovers proud to share the flavors and the stories of our cuisine. Reading García Márquez's books we discovered he was a foodie like us so we encourage us to research about the presence of the Colombian traditional food in his works. Thanks to this, we won a prize of Ministry of Culture of Colombia, we have been invited to Madrid Fusion too and appeared in CNN, Food & Travel magazine and other important media to speak about his literary menu. Their gates grants access to the most charming part of Cartagena – a walled section of 18th-century mansions and lively squares. While we eat, we'll stop in some García Marquez’s preferred places in the historic center.
