We will meet in downtown Manhattan at the lower tip of the island. At the Shrine of the first American-born saint. We'll see some remnants of New Amsterdam, where the Dutch "purchased" Manhattan from the Native Americans. We'll also see some spots visited by George Washington that were active in the Revolutionary War. We'll pass by the Charging Bull statue. A few haunted graveyards will be visible. The Freedom Tower will also be in clear view along our route, so you can take a great skyline photo! We'll pass by an abandoned subway station that's supposedly haunted. We'll then visit the site of a 200+ year old murder mystery, which is possibly haunted to this day. No other details on this one. It's a surprise! We'll have worked up an appetite, so we'll stop at the famous Katz's Delicatessen, founded in 1888. This place is an iconic spot. It's a bit tough to navigate through this spot and order food, so having an expert guide you through it is the best way to do it. Each sandwich runs around $25; this tour covers the cost. Everyone gets a HALF of a sandwich. They're large. This tour is part history, part sightseeing, part food tour, and part ghost tour. All the best parts in one.
I'm born in NYC and I've lived here my whole life and I am a 5-star rated Airbnb Superhost. I work part-time at Flat Top Bistro in uptown Manhattan, so I know all about good food. I've researched the Dutch & British history of NYC. I'm also fascinated by ghost stories. I wanted to provide a way to show guests some lesser known spots around the city & feed them the best food in NYC. Offering this experience made sense, so I could connect with many different people - not just those living in my apartment. All my Airbnb guests have told me that my recommendations of places to visit were amazing.

This walk takes place in lower Manhattan. We will visit historic & haunted spots that date back to the Revolutionary War and even earlier. The food spot we will visit is an iconic NYC restaurant. One of the oldest in the city. It is a true classic. Katz's has been around for 130 years. The historical places we will have seen are off the beaten path & lesser known. I want to focus on places that most people and tourists don't know about.
