Seize this rare opportunity to live with and experience the culture of the Minangkabau people, a group indigenous to West Sumatra, Indonesia. We'll meet in Padang, West Sumatra's capital, then take a one-and-a-half hour drive to Maninjau Village, where we'll meet our first host family, explore the village, and plow rice fields alongside locals. Two days later, we'll make our way to Harau Valley and spend time with the villagers and our second host family. After two days in Harau, we’ll visit Pagaruyung Palace before a four-hour drive back to Padang.

I was born as a Minangkabau boy and my goal is to preserve our natural environment and unique Minang activities. I always promote good practice and hands-on approach for all my guests, thus making then be truly immersed into the daily life of Minang society. I graduated from University of Padang majoring in history, which enables me to see and explain a bigger picture of the locals and Indonesia in general. What others say about me? - I am highly responsible, reliable and above all patient with all visitors. I am knowledgable and skilled licensed guide as well.
We’ll meet in Padang (a 2-hour flight from Jakarta) and take a 1.5-hour drive to Maninjau Village. From there, we'll drive to Harau Valley, about 5 hours away. The trip ends back in Padang.

West Sumatra area is covered with rainforest, thus rain sometimes happens even in dry season. Please pay respect to nature and local environment.
