You will be picked up from the i-site information centre by Rangimarie who will prepare you for the traditional Powhiri or welcoming ceremony that awaits you at our home. Your first impressions of the warrior may set your heart racing but you will soon realize this warrior is actually deep down a fun loving cheeky Maori boy. Home-made Maori bread and locally made condiments and beverages will cement our relationship before we dive into some flax weaving, history sharing and learn a easy fun Maori song that will help you with the pronounciation of our words. You will then make your very own Hangi lunch and we will leave this to cook on river stones before we depart on our tour excursion around Whangarei sharing the spectacular sights of our majestic waterfalls and sacred mountains and share the beautiful stories that go with them. We will arrive back to our home where you will smell the most enticing aroma that you can only get from a hangi, ready for your enjoyment. By this time you will feel very much at home as we share love and laughter over yummy kai or food (yet again). And as our day started we will end our day with a farewell ceremony before you are dropped off.
