If you have been to the famous tourist places in Japan such as Tokyo and Kyoto, why don't you visit Onomichi in Hiroshima? Unlike urban life, Onomichi is cozy and relaxing. Local people will welcome you with genuine hospitality. After meeting at Onomichi station, we will go to eat Onomichi ramen. We will go to Syukaen, where there is a long line. However, We will go there as soon as it opens. After lunch, we will complete visiting all the 7 temples in Onomichi. It is considered that visiting all these temples brings you good luck for your future. Each temple has each meaning: skill-up, victory, health legs, success for examinations, good luck, healing, and longevity. While visiting the temples, we will collect "Gosyuinn", which is red ink stamp in a stampbook. The monk writes the name of temples in calligraphy and stamp the red ink on the stampbook. Also, you will enjoy nostalgic and old views in Onomichi. After exploring all of them, we will go to Sakura tea shop for matcha and sweets to take a break. There, you will try to write kanji with a calligraphy pen on the postcard that I will give as a present. I will ask your favorite words and tell you which kanji to write.
Born and raised in Hiroshima, and traveled 15 countries. I have two goals. I would like to show the unknown places in Hiroshima to foreign people because they knew only famous places in Hiroshima city. I want to tell the beauty of countrysides. Second, I want to tell how to visit temples in Japan. While traveling, I learned that foreign people are interested in visiting temples and learning the correct tradition. I have 7-year-experiences of teaching English at schools. I did MA TESOL at University in the UK, so I am a fluent English speaker. I would be happy to be a part of your trip.
Green tea and sweets After visiting all the 7 temples, we will take a break at the cafe.
