Jump into the world of fresh, free, nutrient-rich food growing all around. The Bay's abundance of productive trees and plants goes unnoticed to many, but for the ones of us who look, we are rewarded with amazing hyper-local food that you can't get at any grocery store. Your experience begins with a brief introduction to foraging while drinking freshly-picked herbal tea and sampling wild snacks. We then take a short walk or drive to the nearest productive trees and plants in the neighborhood where we will forage fruit, nuts, greens and other seasonal edibles. Enjoy your truly local harvest as we create a one-of-a-kind dish from our foraged ingredients. There will be time to ask questions and eat before you're sent off with the remaining harvest. Looking forward to a foraging adventure with you!
I'm a seasoned forager with a deep passion for all things ecology, food and nutrition. I've lead many classes & workshops on agroecology, sustainable food systems and wild foods at Gill Tract Farm as well as at the North American Permaculture convergence. My day job is teaching gardening and nature connection to elementary school children. My favorite food to forage right now are live oak acorns. Check out www.healingecosystems.com/foraging to get updates on what is in season through our newsletter and Instagram.

Experiences begin in our sustainably-designed backyard garden oasis. We then move to local fruit trees located either in neighbor's yards (with special permission of course) or public trees that are in-season.
