This is not your average walking tour! Join me on a walk through Munich's 900 years of history: We will visit the main sights of the old town and find out how places like the Royal Residence, Marienplatz, and the New Townhall shaped Munich and Bavaria into the heartwarming but sometimes baffling place it is today. Discover the city's sights from a fresh and unconventional perspective and visit personally chosen spots which will immerse you in Munich's history and the stories that shaped the way it is today. At the end you won't have just some pretty pictures, but an actual understanding of Munich's unique character and it's inimitable atmosphere.
When I came to Munich 15 years ago, it seemed like a terribly odd place. But after growing up in the Bavarian capital and more than 10 years in hospitality & tourism I have a clear understanding of what the city has to offer, what travelers miss when coming to town, and how I can share the marvels of Munich that are hidden in plain sight. I spent my time in all kinds of places, ranging from spots where Munich is still a village to international projects where you feel the city's cosmopolitan vibe. By now, my friends use me as a personal advisor when it comes to doing things in "the most local" way, and I'm happy to provide the feeling of being at home no matter where anyone comes from!
This is an outdoor experience, we will visit only two sights where we'll actually enter. The tour starts at Feldherrnhalle/Odeonsplatz covering: -Odeonsplatz -Feldherrnhalle -Theatinerkirche (St. Kajetan) -Royal Residence -Max-Joseph-Platz -National Opera -Hofbräuhaus -Old Residence -Frauenkirche (Central cathedral) and from there we'll go to Marienplatz where you'll hear all about: -Old and New Town Hall -Carillon -Mary's Column
If my availability doesn't match your schedule, let me know and we'll work out something! Wellbehaved dogs are welcome!
