Learn fly-fishing basics, including gear, fly casting, outfit rigging, flies, knots, techniques and tricks! This experience is for all ages, great way for friends and families together outside. I will provide a fishing rods for everyone and will go over basics of casting for 10-20 mins. From there, everybody will have a chance to cast a fly rod and have one-on-one corrections. After 1 hour of practice we'll put to use the new skills. Dry fly fishing is the technique we're going to mainly use, having the fish rise to a bug imitation. I will review fish habits, where to find them in the water, how to catch them on a fly and history of local fisheries. Everybody will receive a lot of personal instructions as needed. If you don't already have a valid California fishing license you can buy one online at https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Licensing/Online-Sales The price is $15.69 for a one-day and $48.34 for the calendar year :)
Hello my name is Leo, from Bergamo, Italy. I have been fly-fishing for over 15 years in my home country, where fishing has its own traditions and techniques. When I moved to LA 5 years ago, I immediately felt at home in the mountains and waters of the Sierra Nevada. Currently, I am a professional fly-fishing instructor through the local Orvis store and have many experiences guiding private clients on fishing trips all around North Americas including Canada. I am licensed, insured and bonded. Instagram: @leonardobertelli

Echo Park is the neighborhood I've been living for the past 5 years. It is a gem appreciated by many angelenos after its restoration process concluded in 2013. A great place to spend outdoor time in a busy city like Los Angeles.
