After meeting in the foyer of the ice rink, we will start by taking a walk around the outside of the building, talking about its Art Deco architecture, our rugby neighbours and how we maintained the building over the years. We will then make our way inside the arena, walking up the terracing you'll have the chance to rest in authentic handmade 1938 seats to discuss the different events the ice rink has hosted over the years but also how we build up the ice. Our next stop will be the plant room, the beating heart of the rink, for a technical history that will carry on until we reach the surfacing machine. This will be time for a break before we get ready to go on the ice. On the ice we will take part in the UK Learn to Skate session. This session is composed of a 45 minutes group lesson followed by a 45 minutes practice. The experience will finish after the group tuition but you are more than welcome to stay until the end of the session.
Ice Skates Helmets available on request.
During the tour, you will gain access to part of the rink that most of our customers don't know about. For the skating part it is quite self explanatory... We'll be on the ice pad.
