We will meet you in Byron Bay and then head off on our scenic electric bike ride. The electric bike enables you to ride the winding and hilly roads of the Byron Bay Hinterland with absolute ease. The start of the bike ride will take us to the picturesque area of Broken Head. At Broken Head we will then walk the Three Sisters walking track out to the Broken Head headland (1.6km return), finding out about its Aboriginal heritage whilst on the lookout for whales and dolphins (season dependent). After our trek we will ride our way through flora-rich shrubland, followed by winding roads as we make our way up to the stunning hinterland through coastal rainforest and then finally onto local countryside roads with spectacular views. The hinterland area is one of Byron's most beautiful and sort after locations. We will take a break at the popular Harvest Cafe in Newrybar for a coffee, with time spared for you to relax and purchase a quick snack if you like and have a chat with the locals. From Newrybar, we will then head back to Byron, past local roadside fruit & vege farm stalls. Finally a flat and leisurely ride will take us back to our pickup point. A swim at the beach is then up to you.
Carl & Kath
Kath is the founder of Mountain People specialising in unique and off-the-beaten track travel experiences for the adventurous. Carl was the founder and creative director of map magazine, map creative and The Weekend Edition. He was also the co-founder of TEDxBrisbane. In 2016, we sold our media business and moved to the Byron Hinterland with our two boys so we could live in the greatest place on earth. Surfing, travel, good conversation, great coffee, and riding and hiking around the Byron Bay hinterland are just some of our passions.
I will provide one coffee.

Visiting Byron Bay is wonderful but many people don't get to slow down and see how the locals live in the spectacular and magical Byron Hinterland. Harvest Deli & Cafe is a restored vintage building surrounded by edible gardens. Broken Head is located in the Broken Head Nature Reserve which is noted for its Aboriginal culture, rainforest walks, whale watching and fishing from pristine beaches as well as a highly regarded surfing spot.
You must be able to ride a bike competently and be of moderate fitness. You will need to wear suitable shoes for bike riding. Bike helmets will be supplied.
