You will be given a 8" by 10" stretched canvas and your own station with all the supplies you will need. With guidance from a power point and your teacher, you will create your painting by choosing colors that you like and that will go well together. Linda or Laurel will help you mix each cup while the large screen leads you step by step so you always know what to do next. Once the paint is poured and you have created your composition, the canvas will be set to dry, during which time it may change as the paint keeps flowing. It is exciting to see how the canvas changes as the paint settles and dries. Because it can take 24 or more hours to dry, you can either pick up your creations another day or have them packaged and shipped to you when thoroughly dry.
Linda has been doing various forms of art all her life, from pencil sketching, pen and ink, architectural design, oil, acrylic, sculpture and ceramic. After a mild stroke, she found poured acrylic painting, which does not require the fine motor skills of brush painting, yet is fun, creative, exciting and full of happy surprises. One can grasp the technique, choose their color pallet and create their art in the space of a 90 minutes or so. Linda will guide, suggest, and supervise so you have a good chance of going home with a picture you can be proud of.
