Come take a walk through Hungarian history and understand one of the most misunderstood nations in the world. Whether you’ve barely heard of Hungary or if you’re a Budapest expert, this experience is tailored to suit all. I have a base frame of how, why and where I will take you, and upon this your questions and interests build the rest of each unique experience. During our walk we will cover about 6 kilometres and over 1100 years of history. Rather than just giving “dates, names and a TripAdvisor Top 10” my aim is to give a real taste of the rich Hungarian culture, life and history that will stay with you long after the tour ends. The way I wish to do this is by taking knowledge you already know and building on that, or in some cases, turning it upside down. At the end of the experience you’ll come away with an understanding of the past (from the nomadic tribe in search of the Golden Stag to Ottoman Rule, the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy and the Russian Era of Communism) and you will witness how these events of the past millennium have formed the present people, places and buildings that we will see, and you will continue to see all around you during your time in Hungary.
Anita & Adam
Born and raised in Hungary, I moved to Australia and completed high school, a Bachelor’s in Commerce and a Master’s in Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne before travelling Asia and Latin America. Having spent literally half my life working, studying and living in each of the two countries, Hungary and Australia, I can give you objective insights into what makes Hungary so unique in the world and why it has so little in common with its Eastern European neighbors unlike our Germanic, Balkan and Slavic neighbors, who share high degrees of similarity in comparison.
As a hobby photographer I will share with you some truly unique spots to take your Budapest photos from.
