Join us for a behind the scenes look at conservation in action. You'll see hundreds of gorgeous birds (30 species) and watch their behavior up close. We'll start off with an overview of our work, and then visit several different parts of the sanctuary. Each visit will be different. Sometimes there are babies to enjoy and other times we have to avoid nesting birds. You'll get close encounters that could change your sense of bird intelligence and personality. You can enter some aviaries, but this is optional. We are sensitive to different comfort zones. Visitors have included people who are afraid of birds, people who don't like birds, and people who have never met a bird. To date everyone has enjoyed their visit. At the end, we'll gather over drinks and snacks to talk about the experience and get to know each other. National Geographic has photographed our birds; Lucas Films has recorded bird calls. Now, you will be able to get close to some of the most beautiful and unusual birds in the world! In the past we have not been open to the public, but for the next few months we are opening our doors. We respectfully ask that no photos be taken.
For the past 22 years we've been saving exotic birds, first as a rescue and since 2009 as a conservation species bank. Our organization is considered the world's experts in select species. We've been entrusted by zoos, breeders, national organizations, and humane societies to safeguard, protect, and breed birds that do not have other guardians. Our organization has been visited by Nature Conservancy, Island Conservation, most major zoos, and our birds have been photographed by National Geographic. Our work to save species has been supported by education offered by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Aviculture Society of America, and AFA. Experience offered in English and Spanish
Rare and Exotic birds
We are a non-profit bird conservation organization. As a Living Species Bank, we protect bird species by “banking” living birds and growing their numbers. These birds could be returned to the wild one day. Places like San Diego Zoo have entrusted us with birds to protect and breed. We now have some of the largest and most genetically diverse flocks in the world.

Follow the stone paths past an outdoor rooms (open-air bedroom, living room, etc) into an oasis that shelters a modern-day Noah's ark.
As a non-profit bird conservation org, we thank you for your support in helping us provide lifelong support for the birds in our care. 100% of all proceeds from this experience go to our cause.
