Get a deep look into island life on this journey through Indonesia’s Lesser Sunda Islands. We’ll boat through turquoise waters to Labuhan Burung village to share a meal and stay with a local family. Then we're off to Gili Keramat to search for clams, crab, and other seafood to help prepare a traditional dinner. The next day, we'll head to a mangrove plantation where you can plant a tree and learn about sustainability before some relaxation on the beautiful sandbar Gusung Island.
I lived on this village before and I would like to introduce this new concept of tourism as a Rural Community Based Tourism. The traveler can have a real local life experience based on villager's daily activities. I have been in the hospitality & travel industry since 1992 and my latest assignment in hotel was a General Manager in Bali in 2017. It is time to give more attention to rural community to support improving their welfare. My education background is a Micro Master on " International Hospitality Management" from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on November 2017 and I have taken a certificate program of " Global Hospitality Management " at Cornell University on March 2015. Rural Community Based Tourism has been started since November 2017 and we have Labuhan Burung Village as our prototype village for the concept.
