This 3hr long walking tour involves 3 food stops and a little sightseeing that covers many iconic landmarks and hidden spots along with the history behind them. We’ll start with exploration in Namba, one of the must-visit areas in Osaka. I’ll take you to places where you can learn a bit about the area and its history and our food culture. Then you'll snack on Osaka’s most popular soul food. After that, we’ll take the subway (3 stops) to a non-touristy tiny hidden gem to enjoy Kobe Beef for lunch. This restaurant is very small & local and specialized in Kobe Beef. After lunch, we’ll visit a very small family owned confectionary loved by locals for over 100 years. You’ll enjoy a homemade traditional dessert made with utmost care and high quality ingredients. When you finish your dessert, I’ll walk you to the nearest subway station. I will explain the background of each food you’ll try and link it to Osaka or Japan more broadly. Through this culinary experience, you’ll certainly come to understand the character of Osaka as well as Japanese food culture! Food Allergies & Restrictions: Please be advised that this tour cannot accommodate anyone with severe food allergies that can cause illness or life threatening situations. I’m Chie, a food obsessed Japanese living in Osaka (originally from Kobe). I’m a technical translator, authorized tour conductor & food tour guide. I love food so much that, when I was 14, I was already making my own list of favorite local restaurants, cake shops, etc. in Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto and I would take my friends there. I’ve been doing food tours for almost 14 years - originally for expats and short term business visitors whom I met through work, with limited access to great local eateries without a local to show them. It was always great to see how they were able to connect with others through great food. I’m looking forward to meeting you and sharing the taste of Osaka / Kyoto including our culture, custom and history on my food tours! [Eat your way through Osaka!
