You take the 08:20 train from Milan to Varenna (approx. 1-hour), a charming little village on the Lake Como, from where we start the GUIDED TOUR. We enjoy a short walk of the picturesque village. Afterwards, continue on driving, as much as possible off the beaten track, to Valtellina, a valley in the italian Alps that begins right at the top of Lake Como. You have your lunch at a traditional restaurant (on your own, average cost € 25/30 per person) before passing through the scenic vineyards nestled in the lower part of the mountains. In the afternoon you will have the option to partake in a wine-tasting composed of wines produced in the area and accompanied with local cold cuts and delicious cheese (€ 10/15 per person). On the return back, enjoy various stops, which will provide fantastic panorama views. In the late afternoon (usually at 17:16 or 18:16) you catch your ride back to Milan.
I AM A LICENSED TOUR GUIDE AND DRIVER. I was born and raised in Valtellina, near Lake Como. I lived in Washington DC for about eight years where I worked for a travel agency. My grandfather was from Lake Como, and I love my stomping ground here in the italian Alps. I am very glad when I have the opportunity to show visitors around these places, to provide them information, to tell them stories and to share with them my emotions and passion for these areas.
