We will walk around Bukchon and visit a brewery. You will also have the choice to visit a traditional Korean alcohol bar called a "Jumak" as an option. Walking through Bukchon, you will see a variety of workshops and places built in a traditional Korean house called a "hanok". After walking you will visit a famous Korean traditional "Soju Master"—certified by the Korean government as a "Food Master" and listed as part of the "Intangible National Heritage of Seoul". Here, you will learn about the culture and basic contents of Korean traditional alcohol of two kinds of fermented rice wine called "takju", known as "makgeolli" and "yakju". Then you will discover how to make soju from the distillation of yakju. Then you can taste 10 different variations including takju, yakju, and soju, as well as learn the ways to drink them. Finally, we can move to our optional third place (Need extra cost from around USD 25.00~30.00 cause it's optional), a traditional bar called a "Jumak" where we'll enjoy traditional food and alcohol together. This bar serves lots of Korean traditional alcohols from throughout the Korean Peninsula. We'll enjoy delightfully authentic dishes, Korean love, and traditional makgeolli.
I'm a student of a Soju Master, designated as part of the intangible national heritage of Korea with a 300-year history over 10 generations. l am also a food culture educator in Korea, teaching students at the culinary school and writing food articles for major newspapers and food magazines. I'm also an advisor for the famous food TV show. I have extended knowledge of the traditional alcohol culture of Korea. We will walk through Bukchon Hanok Village to the Soju workshop. A village is a place in Seoul where many old traditional houses are located. It is also naturally connected to the Soju workshop. Then, for optional you are going to go to the traditional bar called "Jumak" for food and drinks.
