PLEASE NOTE: If you do not see a day/time that works for you, please contact me. I am happy to arrange a tour anytime. Must have a minimum of three guests. You'll start by exploring the street art and murals of the NoMa neighborhood. You'll discover new and old pieces and learn more about the artists and art scene in DC. Afterwards we'll venture to the vibrant Union Market area for a couple more murals. You'll see over 30 murals! We end the tour inside Union Market, a vibrant food hall with plenty of food, drink, and people watching. Be prepared to walk in any weather. Bring comfortable shoes and a raincoat or an umbrella. And don't forget your camera! Additional dates and times can be added. Contact me with inquiries. Bicycle Tour Option: For those interested, I can lead this tour via bicycle. Recommended for those with access to their own transportation or to DC's City Bike system. I am an avid cyclist in the city. On bicycle the tour remains fun and safe...and you'll see even more murals in less time!
I've lived in DC for nearly 15 years and have watched the street art and mural scene grow rapidly. For the past four years I've been part of the team bringing a major international mural festival to DC (POW! WOW! DC). I've given professional and personal tours of DC street art for years. I've been fortunate to work with many of the artists whose work you'll see. You'll hear in depth commentary, context, and stories about how these murals came to life!
We'll weave through the streets of NoMa seeing new and old works. After we'll head to the Union Market area for a few last murals. The tour ends inside Union Market where you'll find dozens of food vendors to choose from, indoor and outdoor bars, and great people watching.
The tour lasts approximately 2-2.5 hours plus however long we chat at Union Market.
