A great thrifting trip is all about the thrill of the hunt! Finding the great scores happens early, so we'll get energized with coffee or a snack at our meet-up point, then walk or take public transit to 3-4 of the best thrifting spots in Chicago and spend ABOUT an hour at each. Each spot is at top of my list when I'm looking for my next favorite item. Not only is thrift shopping great for your wallet, but it's sustainable for the environment! This tour is intimate and interactive so get ready to chat and thrift with folks who's tastes and lifestyles are completely different from your own. Making new friends is encouraged! Locals are welcome: this tour ain’t only for tourists! This is not a vintage tour.

I'm an avid thrifty deal-finder! My eye for detail, patterns, unique items and my ability to see possibilities in something that others might pass up make me a great guide for Chicago's wealth of hidden thrift store gems. A few of my favorite finds include: period glassware, funky ugly pottery, unusual mirrors, vintage fabrics and floral print dresses. I’ve styled each of my Chicago apartments with a tasteful eclectic blend of one-of-a-kind finds.

The tour encompasses a few of the best thrift destinations within easy walking distance or public transportation of each other and appeal to a variety of tour guests. This is not a vintage tour. We enjoyed our tour! Carrie was attentive, helped with CTA cards and navigating the transit system, as well as giving us lots of tips along the way. Loved the DIY map she provided, so that we could find hidden places not included in the time-limited tour.

Carrie is an extremely great host. I couldn't stop laughing with the group I was with. Carrie made sure that we moved at a comfortable pace and before the end of the tour she checked to give us directions back to where we needed to go. Definitely a fun tour, highly recommend even just for the walking around new places aspect :)

This was overall a good experience. Especially being my first time in Chicago I didn't know what to do. This was also a good way to explore/experience the city. I liked that each store was different and kind of catered to different styles and budgets. Before this experience I was not an avid thrifter but since returning home Im already on the hunt to go exploring.
