Together we will embark on a short adventure, off the beaten path of the old town in Dubrovnik. During our walk, we will get acquainted with the city, understanding the way it developed and grew throughout the centuries, but don't expect a standard touristy tour - that's not what we're about here. There is no preset plan, we will kick off and see where it leads us because I hate doing the same thing over and over again. Basically, we will try to keep it authentic and we will explore. Every stone has a story, so anywhere we go will be interesting and fun. It's not going to be a lecture, but a pleasant conversation - let's make this personal. Curious people and their questions are very welcome. The topics are not limited to Art history - we will use that as a base from which we spread out to anything that interests you or that you find fun. So yeah, the backbone of this experience will be Dubrovnik, but that's about it. Let's keep it fresh and don't plan too much, otherwise it gets kinda boring. So, point being, you're not really sure what you're getting yourself into. That's OK, I'll be gentle with you...
So, my name is Nada and have an MA in Art history and Russian literature. I was born and raised in Dubrovnik but I lived in other Croatian cities and also spent some time living abroad at certain periods in my life. I came to the idea of doing these tours because the generic city tours are not fun or interesting and I wanted to use the knowledge I have accumulated by roaming the street during my wild youth as well as many years researching the history of the city. The city and its history are an endless source of interesting stories perfect for an entertaining walk and an immersive experience.
We will do our tour within the city walls of Dubrovnik and if we really have a blast there's always the option of taking it next level and heading outside of the walls. As we meet we'll get to know each other a bit, see what kind of gang we make, and I will give you a little intro on the city and the history (just the most important stuff, don't expect the entire city's history) and we will spontaneously proceed into our adventure.
Althought this tour is not very physically demanding, bear in mind there will be a lot of walking, climbing up and down the stairs and if it summer then it will be hot. Like really hot in the summer.
