Our day trip will take you on a special journey; we’re going to have fun, eat well, walk in the wild, and show you our favorite parts of the National Volcanic Monument. We keep our groups small; you may join a few other explorers (at most ten guests) from all over the world. We’ll pick you up in a Mercedes Sprinter van from downtown Seattle at a stop convenient to you, then we head for the mountain! We’ll stop along the way to stretch our legs and have a little breakfast, coffee and tea. In the Park we’ll view the steaming volcano just miles from the crater at Johnston Ridge, experience how the ecosystem is recovering from its powerful eruption, and walk through the park to learn about how volcanoes are monitored and how events transpired on the fateful day of the 1980 eruption. Watch for resident elk herds, frogs, beavers and birds. We’ll ditch the van to explore estuary wetlands among a symphony of birdsong, stroll along a clear blue lake, and bask in the shadow of old-growth forests. We’ll cater length and level of activity to the desires of the group. At the end of the day we’ll return you to your place in downtown Seattle!

We are nature guides in love with the Pacific Northwest! For us, it is more than a job; it’s a way of life. There is so much happening beneath the surface in these beautiful places we call home and we are incredibly passionate about helping connect you to it all through a rich and thoughtful journey. We aim for our tours to be the highlight of each guest’s travels, which comes through in the food we choose, the research we do pre-departure, and the way we adjust the day to your needs. It’s not always easy to escape into the wild—we’re here to make sure you get the most out of it.
