After we meet in Palma, we will go to Esporles and hike from this beautiful village to Banyalbufar, on the coast. Along the way, we will have a picnic lunch and we will have a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Eventually, we will head back to Palma and say goodbye there. I will meet you in Palma. Close to the bus station. We will take a local bus that will take us to Esporles. There, we will visit a local traditional pastry where we will buy our picnic lunch. Once we have it, we will head to the mountains and hike for around 3h (including stops). Overall, we will walk a total of 10km with an elevation of 300m up and 400m down. During the hike, we will learn about the history of the people who lived in the area before tourism came to Mallorca and see some of the remainings of their work. Finally, we will reach Banyalbufar. There, we will have a drink and have a nice relaxing swim in the sea before taking the bus all the way back to Palma.
When we think of Mallorca, we think of the Tramuntana Mountains. During our lives on the island, we have done this hike dozens of times with family, friends, and teachers. Here, we have learned about nature, history, and agriculture. But, most importantly, we have learned to love the place and a passion for its conservation and to show it to our guests.
Cold drink in Banyalbufar
During the tour we will visit the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains, which is World Heritage by UNESCO. In particular, we will visit Esporles and Banyalbufar: two beautiful villages that are not too touristic. We will also stop in Cala Banyalbufar for a nice swim.
The hike is relatively easy, but not flat. A modest fitness is required. This experience is children-friendly. A responsible adult must take care of the child. In winter, it will be too cold to swim.
